Le professeur Black y examine les différents types d analyse et d argumentation qui ont été appliqués à la question de la devise dans laquelle le jugement est exprimé. Le professeur Black s intéresse ainsi aux développements que la matière a connus en Angleterre avec l arrêt Miliangos rendu par la House of Lords, à la situation existant dans le Commonwealth, à la situation aux Etats-Unis, et enfin à la situation dans les pays de tradition romano-germanique. Dans le dernier chapitre, le professeur Black se demande s il existe une solution satisfaisante au problème, et il s attache à rechercher quelle pourrait être cette solution, et si elle pourrait être imposée par un traité international. 
330 |a In his course dedicated to foreign currency obligations in private international law, Vaughan Black, Professor at Dalhousie Law School in Halifax, examines the problem of currency in judicial remedies. The first chapters are descriptive in their approach. Professor Black explains the various styles of analysis and argumentation with which the currency-of-judgement issue has been approached. Professor Black draws attention to the development of this issue in England by looking at the Miliangos decision by the House of Lords, at the situation in the Commonwealth and in the United States, and lastly at the situation in countries with a Romano-Germanic legal tradition. In the last chapter, Professor Black explores whether there exists a correct solution to the problem, and if so, what it might be. It also examines whether such a solution should be imposed by an international treaty.
